‘Kalaro’ in the Lavongai language of Tungak means Thank You!

Kalaro is a small quiet, family run guest house ideally situated in the heart of town’s main residential area along Enuk Street off the main road linking the Court House, Kavieng main wharf, market and the waterfront.  It is ideal for families, tourist groups (local and International) but as it has a quiet atmosphere, it also attracts professionals on longer term business trips.

The guest house is secured by fencing which ensures a quiet, friendly and peaceful environment. 

There are two separate buildings. One has 4 rooms, 2 with attached bathrooms and 2 of which share a bathroom.  All rooms are air conditioned.  There is a lovely homely lounge area for the guests to use as well as a guest kitchen. The other building across the road as large guest kitchen and lounge area, and 9 rooms all with attached bathrooms. There is a large open grass and garden area out the back

Guests can cook up their own meals in the common shared kitchen or place an order for the home-cooked PNG cuisine meals. They do not provide meals over the weekend.

The rooms are very clean in a family setting. The atmosphere is family and friendly, and the Kalaro Guest House is a good starting point for discovering Kavieng.
