SOLWARA GUEST HAUS
solwara skul, KASELOK VILLAGE
12 km along the Boluminski Hwy from Kavieng
The Solwara Skul was created by John Aini for the purposes of teaching love, care and respect for the Physical Environment with a special focus on the Marine Environment.
John is founder of Ailan Awareness, an NGO which works directly with the grassroots population, addressing the major gap in government regulation and the efforts of international NGOs: it gives the people most directly affected by marine conservation the initiative and tools required to design and carry it out.
At the same time, Ailan Awareness collaborates with local and national government agencies, conservation NGOs, and international institutions in order to maximise the potential of its efforts and to better protect New Ireland’s reefs and people.
The Solwara Skul, and it’s adjoining accommodation facilities, were created initially to cater to the efforts of Ailan Awareness and host visiting students and scholars from around the world.
It is now also available for anyone to stay whilst on their travels through New Ireland.
There is one large dorm building accommodating up to 10 people, with a spacious balcony overlooking the beach.
There are two other smaller bungalows accommodating up to 5 people in each, also with large balconies overlooking the water.
